Employee Relations Specialist
Temporary role for 6 months
Full time, hybrid working available
Salary: £300-£350 per day inside IR35
Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional who enjoys getting to the heart of complex people matters, building trusted relationships and helping managers navigate challenging situations with confidence?
We're supporting a large, complex organisation to recruit an Employee Relations Specialist to join their People Team at an exciting time of change and transformation.
With the organisation evolving and new technology, including AI, changing the way people work, the People Team is seeing an increasingly varied and complex range of employee relations matters. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of this, providing expert advice and helping to achieve positive, fair and commercially considered outcomes.
The Role
As an Employee Relations Specialist, you'll act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing practical and pragmatic guidance across a broad range of employee relations matters.

- You'll take ownership of a varied caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and other complex employee relations cases, supporting matters from initial advice through to resolution.
- Building strong relationships will be key. You'll work closely with managers and stakeholders across the organisation, providing coaching and guidance that builds confidence and capability in handling people matters effectively.
- Alongside case management, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the wider People agenda, identifying themes and trends from casework and helping to continuously improve policies, processes and the overall employee experience.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience within Employee Relations, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation.
- Experience managing a high-volume and varied ER caseload, including complex cases from start to finish.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- The confidence to advise, coach, influence and constructively challenge managers on people-related matters.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
- A pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, balancing employee experience with organisational needs and risk.
- Experience identifying trends or opportunities to improve ER policies, processes and ways of working.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
