We are seeking an experienced and confident HR Officer to join one of our leading Leeds-based clients. This is a hands-on, Employee Relations-focused HR role, where you will provide practical advice, guidance, and coaching to managers across a large workforce and multiple sites.
The role will have a strong focus on Employee Relations, absence management, performance, conduct, and policy, supporting managers through a range of people-related matters and ensuring cases are handled consistently, fairly, and in line with employment legislation and company procedures.
You will also contribute to wider HR activity including recruitment, engagement, talent management, and HR projects, making this an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys working closely with people and managers.
Ideally, you will have experience within a manufacturing, retail, or similarly fast-paced environment, with the confidence to manage a high volume of HR activity and employee relations cases. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
