Flatpay is one of Europe's fastest-growing fintech companies and we've recently launched in the UK.
Role: Employee Relations Specialist
Location: 5 days a week, London
Reports to: Senior People Partner
Own and manage the day-to-day ER caseload for the UK, while shaping the policies, frameworks, and manager capability that prevent issues arising in the first place.
Responsibilities
- Own the ER policy suite (conduct, grievance, absence, capability), reviewing and updating proactively when employment law, case precedent, or business need requires it.
- Manage grievances and disciplinaries end to end: investigations, hearings, outcome letters, and PIPs, applying policy consistently and fairly.
- Own the sickness and absence process end to end, stepping in on long-term or complex cases and managing occupational health referrals and reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act.
- Partner with Legal (Neathouse Partners) on live cases and horizon-scanning: new legislation, tribunal trends, and areas of emerging risk.
- Design and deliver manager capability programmes that build lasting confidence in handling conduct, absence, and performance conversations early.
- Analyse caseload trends quarterly and present findings and recommended interventions to the Senior People Partner.
- Build and maintain a case management framework that is consistent, auditable, and scalable as the business grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
