Interim Policy Specialist, Manchester, 6 months FTC, £30,000 to £35,000 plus excellent benefits.
Hybrid, 3 days in the office. Some remote weekend & evening shifts.
Our client is a well-established organisation undergoing a period of growth and change, creating the need for additional specialist support within their ER function. As they continue to build on their people-focused culture, they are seeking an Interim Policy Specialist to join their team and provide support and guidance across a broad range of employee relations matters.
About the Role
As a Policy Specialist, you’ll be a trusted partner to line managers providing expert guidance that balances business needs with fairness, care and legal compliance. You will be responsible for:

- Managing a high volume of calls from managers
- Understanding the situation and offering coaching, support and advice
- Influencing decision making
- Helping to create a positive outcome for both employees and the business
- Providing policy advice and coaching to managers via a telephone advice line
- Delivering an excellent customer experience by meeting KPI/SLAs including call handling and satisfaction measures
Key Requirements
- Organised, proactive, confident communicator with a passion for employee relations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good listener, able to understand situations and offer advice and guidance according to policy
- Collaborative and credible, able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ideally CIPD Level 3/5 qualified or studying towards
- Pragmatic and commercial approach, balancing legal compliance with business priorities
- Ability to coach managers and build capability in people management
- Flexible and self-motivated attitude
