Rate: £17.73/hr Umbrella

Summary

This temporary position, lasting six months with a local authority, offers a rate of £17.73 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The role is crucial in delivering precise and prompt administrative support for HR and Payroll functions. It ensures adherence to employment laws, payroll procedures, data protection standards, and organizational policies. The position is integral to the Employee Services function, involving the maintenance of employee records, processing of payroll and HR transactions, and addressing employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver administrative support for HR and Payroll to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Interpret and implement HR and Payroll laws, policies, procedures, and employment terms.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employee inquiries, offering guidance and escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • Draft and distribute HR and Payroll documents, including contracts, amendments, payroll notifications, and other employment-related paperwork.
  • Keep employee records up to date and manage HR/Payroll systems, ensuring adherence to data protection and information governance standards.
  • Handle payroll transactions to guarantee employees receive accurate and timely payments.
  • Extract, analyze, and report HR and Payroll data to assist with service requests, audits, and management reporting.

Requirements

  • Experience with HR and/or Payroll systems.
  • Proven track record in administrative roles requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Competence in researching, extracting, and analyzing data from systems and databases.
  • Experience in providing customer-focused support and handling inquiries.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent qualification and/or relevant experience.

Additional Information

  • Working hours are 37 hours per week.
  • The role involves hybrid working, with 1 to 2 days per week required in the office.
  • This temporary position is available until 31st March 2027.
  • Payments are processed bi-weekly.
