Location: Pyle, Bridgend Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
About XR Training
XR Training is a leading apprenticeship provider committed to helping employers develop skilled workforces while supporting individuals to build successful careers. We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and proactive Employer Engagement & Business Development Officer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking to businesses, building long-term relationships and making a real impact. Working from our office in Pyle, you will play a key role in growing our apprenticeship provision by securing new employer partnerships and promoting apprenticeship opportunities across a range of sectors.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and engaging employers who are looking to recruit apprentices, as well as supporting existing employers to develop their workforce through apprenticeship programmes. The role will involve:
- Proactively contacting employers by telephone to generate new business opportunities.
- Building relationships with new and existing employers across South Wales and surrounding areas.
- Recruiting employers to offer apprenticeship opportunities in:
- Fabrication & Welding
- Electrical
- Motor Vehicle
- Promoting apprenticeship programmes for existing employees, including:
- Management Level 3, 4 & 5
- Business Administration Level 4
- Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) Level 3
- PMO Level 2
- Promoting the full range of apprenticeship programmes and services offered by XR Training.
- Managing your own pipeline of employer enquiries and opportunities.
- Taking ownership of monthly employer engagement and apprenticeship start targets.
- Recording activity accurately using CRM systems.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure employers receive an excellent customer experience from initial enquiry through to learner enrolment.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is confident speaking to businesses over the telephone.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is self-motivated and enjoys working towards targets.
- Takes ownership of their work and is proactive in finding solutions.
- Can manage their own workload effectively.
- Is organised, resilient and determined to achieve results.
- Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable
- Experience in business development, employer engagement, recruitment or apprenticeships.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship funding or work-based learning.
- Experience working towards KPIs or performance targets.
What We Offer
