Employer Relationship Consultant
Turn employer conversations into real opportunities
You will build relationships with employers and turn them into vacancies and sustainable jobs for Get Set UK participants.
This is a commercially focused role for someone from recruitment, employer engagement or B2B sales who knows how to start conversations, understand business needs and convert relationships into measurable results. You will own an employer pipeline, follow opportunities through to job starts and be accountable for outcomes. The role includes a sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter based on job starts and outcomes.
Before you apply: the essentials
To be considered, your CV and application must clearly demonstrate:
- Experience in recruitment, employer engagement or B2B sales, with evidence of relationships that led to vacancies, placements, sales or other measurable outcomes.
- Evidence of developing and managing multiple employer, client or business relationships, including consistent follow-up and progressing opportunities.
- Evidence of understanding customer needs, influencing decisions and managing expectations professionally.
- Evidence of commitment, reliability and consistently delivering high standards of work.
- Evidence of delivering outcomes, targets, tasks, projects or agreed objectives.
- Ability to present your recent employment history clearly, including explaining gaps or short-term roles during the previous five years.
- Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to other software and digital systems.
Your CV should show what you personally achieved, not simply what you were responsible for. Tell us about relationships you developed, opportunities you created, targets you achieved and measurable results you delivered.
Useful, But Not Essential
- Experience in employability, skills or a related sector.
- Knowledge of employability programmes or employment support.
The real job
Your job is to develop employer relationships that create genuine employment opportunities.
You will identify and engage employers, understand their recruitment needs and build a credible vacancy pipeline. You represent Get Set UK externally, so employers need to trust that you understand their business and will put forward people with a realistic chance of succeeding.
Working with colleagues and participants, you will make sensible matches between vacancies and the skills, circumstances and readiness of the people we support.
You will follow opportunities beyond the introduction, tracking job starts and whether employment is sustained. Alongside employer prospecting and meetings, you will maintain accurate CRM records, coordinate with colleagues and follow up consistently.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Not every employer conversation will convert. Vacancies will change or disappear, and some opportunities will not be suitable. You need the commercial judgement and persistence to recognise worthwhile opportunities and keep relationships moving.
What Success Looks Like
You build an active employer network that generates genuine vacancies and employment outcomes, rather than activity that goes nowhere.
Your pipeline is current and credible. Employers receive responsive, professional support, participants are matched thoughtfully and your CRM records are accurate and up to date.
Ultimately, you can demonstrate job starts and sustained employment resulting from relationships you developed. The sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter directly rewards job starts and outcomes.
The working reality
This is a target-driven role where impact matters more than the number of conversations you have.
You will balance employer prospecting, meetings, candidate discussions, CRM administration, internal coordination and outcome tracking. Employers will say no, plans will change and opportunities will fall through.
You need to be comfortable developing new business relationships, following up persistently and being accountable for measurable employment outcomes.
What You Get
- Sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter, based on job starts and outcomes.
- 25 days' annual leave, increasing with service.
- Vitality health and wellbeing support, including GP services, mental health support and physiotherapy.

- Workplace pension, with salary sacrifice available subject to eligibility and scheme rules.
- Share buy scheme.
