A little more about your role…
- You will play a pivotal role in pre and post-contract Cost & Commercial Management, including Employer’s Agent services to our clients - including estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost assurance, and post-contract financial/commercial management of projects ranging in size and complexity.
- Undertaking the role of Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator/ Quantity Surveyor, with the opportunity to work across various sectors, namely residential development and our Department for Education framework on key School Rebuilding projects with varied levels of complexity on behalf of and in support of the Department for Education
- You will join a diverse, growing team of Cost Managers, Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Employer’s Agents, and other related professionals who work across multiple sectors.
- You will be part of our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM) – made up of approximately 550 colleagues across the UK. This team provides Quantity Surveying/Cost and Commercial Management, Employer’s Agent, Programme and Project Management and Project Controls services to deliver both Building and Infrastructure projects for public and private clients, where you will sit within our Buildings team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or construction related discipline or working towards a professional qualification.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate applicable knowledge, ability and experience around Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Employer’s Agent and Commercial competencies required by relevant professional institutions.
- Where applicable, have demonstrable project management, project leadership and delivery experience.

Desirable
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to workload.
- Demonstrable Quantity Surveying or Cost and Commercial Management experience in the public and private sector.
- Ability to travel from base office or home to site, client/project team offices, other WSP offices, and project locations.
- Are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a dynamic team.
- Hold a degree, or similar higher education academic qualification or work towards the same.
- Have organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Are not afraid to challenge the status quo to try innovative solutions and learn from past experiences.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of specialist software such as CostX and CEMAR.
- Working knowledge/experience of JCT Contracts and NEC, and other industry standard contract forms, with the ability to administer JCT construction contracts, including attending site and chairing regular site meetings.
- Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Have previous experience of working in a Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Employer’s Agent and Commercial Management role in a consultant, contractor, or client organisation.
