Employer's Agent / Project Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employer's Agent / Project Manager to join a growing and highly regarded construction consultancy in Cambridge. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments, the business partners with public sector and affordable housing clients on projects ranging from small-scale schemes to major developments of over 500 homes. Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, the company is looking to appoint an ambitious Project Manager who is keen to play a key role in delivering successful developments while progressing their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

A well-established and growing multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an Employer's Agent / Project Manager to join its team in Cambridge. With a strong pipeline of residential and mixed-use developments, the business works closely with public sector and affordable housing clients, delivering projects from inception through to completion. Your new role

As an Employer's Agent / Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a full range of pre-contract and post-contract services across a variety of residential and mixed-use developments. Working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, you will oversee projects throughout the development life cycle, ensuring successful delivery against programme, cost, and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as Employer's Agent and Project Manager on residential development projects.
  • Managing projects from feasibility and procurement through to completion and handover.
  • Providing strategic advice during options appraisal and project planning stages.
  • Managing project finances and reporting progress to clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities.
  • Supporting colleagues and contributing to the wider success of the project management team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in an Employer's Agent, Project Manager, or similar client-side consultancy role.
  • A strong understanding of Design & Build procurement and the construction process.
  • Experience delivering residential, affordable housing, mixed-tenure, or mixed-use developments.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management capabilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively to challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.
