Your next step. Helping someone take theirs.

You will help people facing barriers to employment turn plans into practical progress and sustainable work.

This is employment coaching with a significant sales element. You will manage a caseload of around 50 to 70 people, deliver up to eight appointments on a busy day and make cold sales calls to employers to generate vacancies, interviews and jobs. Success is measured through employment outcomes, and the role includes a sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter based on job starts and outcomes.

Before you apply: the essentials

To be considered, your CV and application must clearly demonstrate:

  • Experience supporting, advising or influencing customers, clients or participants towards practical outcomes.
  • Evidence of achieving sales, performance or outcome targets.
  • Experience managing multiple customer relationships, appointments or competing priorities.
  • Confidence starting conversations, including outbound telephone contact, and handling rejection professionally.
  • Evidence of commitment, reliability and consistently delivering high standards of work.
  • Ability to explain your recent employment history clearly, including gaps or short-term roles during the previous five years.
  • Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with ability to learn other digital systems.

Your application is part of the evidence

This role involves helping people improve CVs, complete applications, prepare for work and understand what employers expect. Some of the people you support will arrive with unclear CVs, unexplained employment gaps, limited recent experience or a work history affected by caring responsibilities, health, redundancy or other circumstances. Others may not yet be ready for work and will need structured support to build towards it.

You do not need a perfect employment history to work here, and a career gap or short-term role will not count against you simply because it exists. What matters is that you explain your experience clearly and give us evidence of your reliability, commitment and results.

We will also look at the standard of your application. Read the advert carefully, follow the application instructions and submit a clear, current CV that shows what you personally did, achieved or delivered. If you have several short-term roles or gaps in the last five years, give enough context for us to understand them rather than leaving us to guess.

As an Employment Advisor, you will regularly ask participants to do exactly these things. You will help them present their experience clearly, follow employer instructions, evidence their strengths and address questions about their employment history confidently.

Your own application is therefore an important opportunity to demonstrate that you understand the standard you will be helping our participants achieve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Useful, But Not Essential

Experience in employability, recruitment, business development, careers, education, housing, sales, customer service, retail or hospitality leadership could be useful. Previous employability experience is not essential.

The real job

Every person starts somewhere different. You will understand their skills, experience, goals and barriers, agree practical actions and keep those actions moving towards employment.

You will support CVs and applications, prepare people for interviews, identify suitable vacancies and help them develop the routines and behaviours employers expect.

Sometimes you will encourage someone whose confidence is low. At other times, you will need to challenge repeated non-attendance, incomplete actions or unrealistic expectations. Empathy matters, but so does accountability.

There is also a significant sales element. You will make regular cold sales calls to employers who may not know Get Set UK. You will identify recruitment needs, promote suitable candidates, handle objections and turn conversations into vacancies and interviews.

Sales is not an occasional addition. It is a core and measured responsibility.

Alongside appointments and employer calls, you will follow up people who disengage, maintain accurate case notes and keep actions and records up to date.

What Success Looks Like

Within 90 days, you should be confidently managing a caseload of around 50 to 70 people, running a purposeful diary and maintaining accurate, timely records.

You should also be making confident cold sales calls, developing an employer pipeline and promoting candidates effectively.

Your performance will be measured through vacancy generation, job starts, sustained employment and the quality of your casework. The role includes a sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter based on job starts and outcomes, directly rewarding the employment results you help create.

The working reality

This is an office-based, target-driven role combining coaching, case management, administration and sales.

Employers will say no. Participants will miss appointments. Progress can be slow. You will receive feedback and be accountable for results.

If you are looking for a largely remote role, or a coaching position without sales and measurable outcomes, this is unlikely to be the right fit.

What You Get

  • Sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter, based on job starts and outcomes.
  • 25 days' annual leave, increasing with service.
  • Vitality health and wellbeing support, including GP services, mental health support and physiotherapy.
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, including up to six counselling sessions a year and legal, financial and debt guidance.
  • Workplace pension, with salary sacrifice available subject to eligibility and scheme rules.
  • Share buy scheme.
  • Up to £360 a year through IncentFit for eligible activities.
  • Wellbeing, retail, fitness, travel and mobile discounts, including 20% off eligible EE mobile plans.
