Your next step. Helping someone take theirs.
You will help people facing barriers to employment turn plans into practical progress and sustainable work.
This is employment coaching with a significant sales element. You will manage a caseload of around 50 to 70 people, deliver up to eight appointments on a busy day and make cold sales calls to employers to generate vacancies, interviews and jobs. Success is measured through employment outcomes, with a sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter based on job starts and outcomes.
Before you apply: the essentials
To be considered, your CV and application must clearly demonstrate:
- Experience supporting, advising or influencing customers, clients or participants towards practical outcomes.
- Evidence of delivering outcomes, sales targets, performance targets or agreed objectives.
- Experience managing multiple customer relationships, appointments or competing priorities.
- Confidence starting conversations, including outbound telephone contact, and handling rejection professionally.
- Evidence of commitment, reliability and consistently delivering high standards of work.
- Ability to present your recent employment history clearly, including explaining gaps or short-term roles during the previous five years.
- Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to other software and digital systems.
Your application matters. Keep your CV clear and relevant, showing what you personally did, achieved or delivered. Employment gaps, redundancy, caring responsibilities or legitimate short-term roles are not automatically negative - explain your circumstances clearly rather than leaving us to guess.
This is particularly relevant because you will regularly help participants improve CVs, complete applications and understand what employers expect.
Useful, But Not Essential
Previous experience in employability, recruitment, business development, careers, education, housing, sales, customer service, retail or hospitality leadership could be useful. Previous employability experience is not essential.
The real job
Every person starts somewhere different. You will understand their skills, experience, goals and barriers, agree practical actions and keep those actions moving towards employment.
You will support CVs and applications, prepare people for interviews, identify suitable vacancies and help them develop the routines and behaviours employers expect.
That means balancing encouragement with accountability. You may support someone whose confidence is low, then have a direct conversation with somebody who repeatedly misses appointments or does not complete agreed actions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Sales is also a core and measured part of the job. You will make cold sales calls to employers who may not know Get Set UK, identify recruitment needs, promote suitable candidates, handle objections and turn conversations into vacancies and interviews.
Alongside appointments and employer calls, you will follow up people who disengage and maintain accurate, timely case notes and records.
What Success Looks Like
Within 90 days, you should be confidently managing a caseload of around 50 to 70 people, running a purposeful diary and keeping your casework up to date.
You will be developing an employer pipeline through cold sales calls and promoting candidates effectively.
Performance is measured through vacancy generation, job starts, sustained employment and the quality of your casework. The sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter directly rewards job starts and outcomes.
The working reality
This is an office-based, target-driven role combining coaching, case management, administration and sales.
Employers will say no. Participants will miss appointments. You may deliver up to eight appointments on a busy day while still keeping records accurate and employer activity moving.
If you want a largely remote role, or a coaching position without sales and measurable employment outcomes, this is unlikely to be the right fit.
What You Get
- Sales bonus of up to £800 per quarter, based on job starts and outcomes.
- 25 days' annual leave, increasing with service.
- Vitality health and wellbeing support, including GP services, mental health support and physiotherapy.
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, including up to six counselling sessions a year and legal, financial and debt guidance.
- Workplace pension, with salary sacrifice available subject to eligibility and scheme rules.
