Employment Associate / Senior Associate | 2-7 PQE | London

Lex Exec is looking to speak with talented Employment Associates and Senior Associates considering their next move in London.
We are currently working with a number of highly regarded Employment teams, from leading specialist practices through to major UK and international firms, and there is particularly strong demand for lawyers operating at Senior Associate level.
For the right lawyer, there are opportunities offering sophisticated work, genuine client responsibility and a clear platform for progression.
The opportunities
Our clients advise an exceptional mix of major corporates, household-name brands, financial institutions, fast-growth businesses and senior executives.
Depending on the practice, work can include:
- Complex Employment Tribunal litigation
- Senior executive disputes, exits and negotiations
- High Court litigation, restrictive covenants and team moves
- Strategic employment and HR advisory work
- Investigations and sensitive workplace matters
- Restructuring, redundancy and organisational change
- Employment aspects of M&A and corporate transactions
- Trade union and collective matters
- International and multi-jurisdictional employment projects

Senior Associates
There is particularly good demand for Senior Associates around 5-7 PQE who are ready to take greater ownership of matters and client relationships.
You are likely to have strong technical foundations alongside the confidence to manage matters, supervise junior lawyers and develop trusted relationships with clients.
For lawyers approaching the next stage of their career, we can discuss opportunities offering genuine progression, increased responsibility and a route towards Counsel, Legal Director or Partnership, depending on the firm.
Associates
We are equally keen to hear from strong Associates around 2-4 PQE looking to accelerate their development within a leading Employment practice.
The strongest opportunities offer genuine breadth rather than confining junior lawyers to one narrow area, with early client exposure and the opportunity to develop across contentious, advisory and transactional Employment work.

Outstanding NQ and 1 PQE lawyers may also be considered, particularly where they have substantial Employment experience from a strong training environment.
What do our Clients look for?
Typically:
- Experience gained within a respected Employment practice
- Strong employer-side advisory and/or contentious experience
- Excellent drafting and analytical skills
- Commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- An interest in developing client relationships and business development
- Ambition to build a long-term career within Employment law
