Company Description
Bell Taylor is a lawyer-led employment law & HR support practice that advises employers across the UK. Founded in 2013, the firm works with its clients on a fixed-fee retained basis, giving them unlimited day-to-day employment law advice and HR support without hourly billing. Its clients include barristers' chambers, solicitors, accountancy practices, manufacturers, professional sports organisations and charities. Many have been with the firm for over a decade, some since the very beginning, and nine out of ten renew. Bell Taylor is also the employment law partner of choice for several law firms that don't have their own employment department. Clients receive clear, commercial and practical advice from people who understand their business, supported by a trusted network of HR consultants, investigators and trainers.
Role Description
The Employment Law Adviser will take ownership of a portfolio of retained employer clients and act as their first point of contact. The adviser will give day-to-day advice on employment law and HR matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, absence and performance management, redundancies, restructures and settlement agreements. The role also involves drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, handbooks and correspondence. Most client contact is by phone, email and video. The adviser will guide smaller employers through difficult situations and act as a sounding board for larger organisations with their own HR teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

For anyone who wants to broaden their experience, there are opportunities to get involved in Employment Tribunal work, deliver client training and run webinars and seminars.
This is a remote role open to candidates anywhere in the UK, with genuinely flexible working. Full-time or part-time applications are welcome.
