Opportunity: Employment Lawyer (2-5 PQE)

Location: Cheltenham | Hybrid and Flexible Working
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Bonus

Good law. Good people. A life outside the office.

Not every career move needs to mean longer hours, bigger targets or sacrificing your life outside work. Sometimes, the best move is simply finding somewhere you can do great work and enjoy everything that comes with it.

We're working with a boutique law firm in Cheltenham that was founded by lawyers who wanted to take the best bits of working in larger firms, without the bureaucracy, presenteeism or toxic culture.

The result is a close-knit team; a loyal client base built largely on word of mouth and a working environment where people are trusted to do their jobs without having to prove they're sitting at their desks.

They're now looking to welcome an Employment Lawyer (2-5 PQE) to the team.

The Role:

You'll advise both businesses and individuals on a broad range of employment law matters, from day-to-day HR advice to complex disputes and tribunal claims.

Your work will include:

  • Advising on unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination, termination disputes and restrictive covenants.
  • Managing employment tribunal claims and supporting clients with dispute resolution.
  • Drafting and advising on employment contracts, director service agreements, workplace policies and employee handbooks.
  • Advising employers on HR matters, restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
  • Providing practical advice and training on employment issues, including disciplinary procedures and absence management.
  • Building lasting client relationships and delivering clear, commercially focused advice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why This Firm?

A refreshing approach to private practice. The firm was built around a simple idea: deliver exceptional legal work without the unnecessary hierarchy, red tape and long-hours culture often associated with larger firms.

A people-first culture. Colleagues become friends, and there's a real understanding that life doesn't revolve around work. Whether it's the school run, an appointment or caring for family, flexibility is part of how the firm operates. Get your work done, and nobody expects you to stay for the sake of it.

An impressive reputation. With a strong, established client base built predominantly through personal recommendations, the firm has grown through the quality of its work and the relationships it builds, rather than big marketing campaigns.

Real scope to develop. You'll be trusted with responsibility, supported in your professional development and given the opportunity to progress as your career evolves.

What's On Offer?

  • Hybrid and flexible working.
