Employment Litigation Specialist

Remote | UK-wide travel (primarily Watford, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham & Bristol)

£85,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Up to £14,000 Bonus + 7% Pension

Sullivan Brown is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK infrastructure organisation to recruit an experienced Employment Litigation Specialist.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a business that plays a vital role in keeping the UK's essential infrastructure running. Operating across water, energy, transport and telecoms, our client employs over 11,000 people and is committed to creating a safer, more connected and sustainable future.

As the organisation continues to grow, they are looking for a commercially minded employment litigation expert who can confidently manage complex tribunal litigation while helping shape proactive employment risk strategies across the business.

The Opportunity

Working remotely with travel to key UK locations including Watford, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, you'll be the organisation's specialist lead on employment litigation, partnering closely with HR, Employee Relations, operational leaders and legal colleagues.

This is a highly visible role where you'll influence decision-making at a senior level, providing pragmatic legal advice that balances legal risk with commercial outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of employment litigation matters from start to finish, including:

  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims end-to-end, including case strategy, pleadings, witness statements, disclosure, bundles and hearing preparation.
  • Advising on ACAS Early Conciliation, judicial mediation, settlement strategy and other early resolution options.
  • Supporting complex and high-risk employee relations matters before they escalate into formal litigation.
  • Working collaboratively with HR, Employee Relations teams, operational leaders and legal colleagues to manage legal risk effectively.
  • Providing commercially focused legal advice that considers operational impact, reputational risk and cost.
  • Identifying trends across tribunal claims to strengthen governance, improve consistency and reduce future risk.
  • Delivering legal updates, guidance and capability-building initiatives across the wider Employee Relations function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
