The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Employment & Skills Academy Coordinator to support the delivery of employment and training opportunities within the airport community. Working closely with the Employment & Skills Manager, you will build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community organisations, the voluntary sector, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), colleges, universities, and employers.

This is a highly visible, people-focused role where you'll act as an ambassador for the Employment & Skills Academy, promoting opportunities, engaging with stakeholders, and helping connect local people with rewarding careers across the airport environment. You'll represent the Academy at events, job fairs, and community engagement activities, helping to drive awareness, participation, and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, education providers, community organisations, DWP, and employers.
  • Promote employment and training opportunities through events, job fairs, presentations, and social media.
  • Engage with referral partners and stakeholders to attract and source candidates.
  • Represent the Employment & Skills Academy and Stansted Airport at external events and community activities.
  • Work closely with employers to understand recruitment needs, coordinate interviews, and gather feedback.
  • Provide stakeholder updates, performance data, and reporting to support continuous improvement.
  • Support the Academy's growth by developing talent pipelines and increasing stakeholder engagement.

What Will Make You Successful in the Role?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about connecting people with opportunities and thrives on building relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. You'll be a confident communicator who enjoys representing the Academy and creating positive engagement within the local community.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong writing and summarising skills, with experience producing reports, newsletters, presentations, or stakeholder updates.
  • Confidence presenting to groups and representing the Academy at events, job fairs, and community engagement activities.
  • Effective listening skills and a customer-focused approach to understanding stakeholder and employer needs.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using CRM systems, databases, and Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the confidence to suggest new ideas and drive continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, partners, and employers to achieve shared goals.
