About Hamilton Law
Hamilton Law is a growing law firm based in Rawtenstall, Rossendale, with an expanding employment law practice advising individuals and businesses across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
We are looking for an Employment Paralegal / Lawyer / Consultant to join the team and take an active role in managing and developing employment law matters.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on employment law position with significant client contact and involvement in live matters.
The role would particularly suit someone with existing employment law or litigation experience who is comfortable taking ownership of files while working under solicitor supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting employment law assessments and case reviews across contentious and non-contentious matters.
- Managing client communications and assisting with files throughout the lifecycle of a matter.
- Drafting legal correspondence, settlement agreements, Employment Tribunal pleadings, applications and procedural documentation.
- Assisting with Employment Tribunal proceedings, ACAS Early Conciliation and settlement negotiations.
- Undertaking legal and procedural research to support client advice and litigation strategy.
- Reviewing evidence, preparing chronologies and assisting with witness statements, schedules of loss and hearing preparation.
- Managing deadlines and ensuring compliance with Tribunal directions and case management orders.
- Supporting client onboarding, lead conversion and business development.
- Contributing to the continued development and growth of Hamilton Law's employment law department.
- Where relevant, building practical experience and competency evidence towards qualification.

About You
We are open to applicants at different stages of their legal careers, including paralegals, legal executives, employment law consultants, SQE candidates and qualified lawyers/solicitors.
Previous employment law experience is preferred, particularly experience involving Employment Tribunal matters, although candidates with strong litigation experience and a genuine interest in employment law are also encouraged to apply.
You should have:
- Strong legal drafting and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Confidence dealing directly with clients.
- Good organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- The ability to work independently while recognising when matters require solicitor input or supervision.
- A practical and commercially minded approach to resolving employment disputes.
- Experience acting for either claimants or respondents is welcome.

Location and Working Arrangements
The role is based at our Rawtenstall, Rossendale office.
Office-based working is preferred, although hybrid and fully remote working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
This is expected to be a full-time position, although alternative arrangements may be considered depending on experience.
Start Date
Immediate start preferred.
We are particularly keen to have someone in place around 11 September 2026, so applications will be reviewed and interviews arranged promptly.
