Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a pure Employment opportunity, focused predominantly on employer-side work. The firm also has a separate HR advisory and subscription offering, but this role sits within the legal Employment practice and is not focused on EPI or subscription work.

The firm is investing further in its London OMB offering, with an ambition to build a connected ecosystem for owner-managed businesses across the wider practice. This creates an opportunity for senior Employment lawyers to play a meaningful role in developing the OMB practice, supported by the infrastructure and wider expertise of an established national firm.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Employment lawyer to join a growing London OMB offering, with a clear route into partnership.

The successful candidate will have a strong proportion of Owner-Managed Business and privately owned clients and advise employers across a broad range of Employment matters.

The exact nature of your practice is flexible, but you should have strong employer-side Employment experience and a genuine OMB network. This could include advisory work, senior exits, tribunal litigation, investigations, TUPE, employment contracts, industrial relations or other employer-side Employment matters.

You will work closely with the OMB leadership team and contribute to the wider ecosystem, introducing clients to colleagues across Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate, Private Client, Dispute Resolution and other specialist areas.

There is no fixed following threshold for partnership. The firm is interested in the quality of your relationships, track record of generating work and potential to build a substantial practice rather than requiring a particular level of portable revenue.

The firm is looking for someone with the ambition to build an “empire” around their client base, supported by a broader national platform and opportunities for networking, events and business development.

For a senior Employment lawyer, this represents a genuine opportunity to progress into partnership based on the strength of their practice, relationships and potential.

Requirements

  • 8+ PQE Solicitor with strong employer-side Employment experience.
  • An Owner-Managed Business/private business client base and network, representing a significant proportion of your existing practice.
  • Proven track record of generating work, referrals and long-term client relationships.
  • Broad Employment experience across contentious and/or non-contentious matters.
  • Commercially minded, entrepreneurial and proactive, with strong relationship-building and business development skills.
  • Ambitious and motivated to build a significant practice, with a strong OMB network and willingness to cross-refer work across the wider firm.
  • Sector agnostic, with the strength and relevance of your OMB network more important than a particular industry specialism.

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a senior Employment lawyer with a strong OMB network who is looking for a genuine route into partnership. With significant investment behind the London OMB offering, no fixed following threshold and genuine scope to build a substantial practice, the role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future of a growing area of the firm while working towards a Partnership title.
