Employment Partner | London | Leading National Law Firm | Owner-Managed Business Focus
Are you an established Employment Partner with a strong Owner-Managed Business client base looking for a platform where you can continue to build and grow your practice? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing London OMB offering with genuine investment behind it, no fixed following threshold and scope to build something substantial.
A highly regarded national law firm is looking to make a number of senior hires to support the continued growth of its Owner-Managed Business offering in London. The firm is looking for commercially minded Partners with a genuine OMB network, a strong track record of generating work and the ambition to continue building a significant practice.
The Firm
A L500 and Chambers-ranked leading national law firm with an established UK presence and a broad full-service offering spanning Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Employment, Real Estate, Banking and Finance, Private Client and a range of specialist legal services.
The firm has a well-established Employment practice advising employers across a broad range of sectors. The team provides commercially focused advice on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with a strong emphasis on understanding clients' businesses and providing practical solutions.
The London Employment team sits within a wider national practice, creating opportunities for collaboration and cross-referral across the firm's broader offering. The firm also has a separate HR advisory and subscription proposition, although this role sits firmly within the pure Employment practice and is focused on traditional legal Employment work rather than an HR advisory or subscription model.
The firm is investing further in its London OMB offering, with an ambition to build a genuinely connected ecosystem for owner-managed businesses across the wider practice. This creates an opportunity for an established Employment Partner to continue developing their practice, supported by the infrastructure, national reach and wider expertise of an established law firm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Employment Partner to join a growing London OMB offering and continue building a significant practice.
The successful candidate will have a strong proportion of Owner-Managed Business and privately owned clients within their existing practice and will be predominantly employer-side, advising entrepreneurs, shareholders, family-owned businesses and other privately held companies across a broad range of Employment matters.
This is a pure Employment role, rather than an HR advisory or subscription proposition. The exact nature of your practice is flexible, but you should have strong experience advising employers and a genuine network of OMB/private business clients and contacts.
Your work could include employment advisory matters, senior exits, employment tribunal litigation, disciplinary and grievance matters, investigations, TUPE, employment contracts and policies, industrial relations and other areas of employer-side Employment law.
You will work closely with the OMB leadership team and contribute to the wider OMB ecosystem, with opportunities to introduce clients to colleagues across Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate, Private Client, Dispute Resolution and other specialist areas.
A particularly attractive aspect of the opportunity is that there is no fixed following threshold. The firm is interested in the quality of your relationships, your track record of generating referrals and work, and your potential to continue building a substantial practice rather than requiring a particular level of portable revenue.
