Role Description
The Employment Partner/Senior Employment Solicitor will lead and develop the firm’s employment law offering, working closely with business clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Advising on HR and workplace issues
- Drafting and negotiating employment contracts and policies
- Handling disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Managing tribunal claims and settlement agreements
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Contributing to business development initiatives
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Huddersfield, with the opportunity to work remotely for part of the week while attending the office for client meetings, collaboration, and team activities.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Labor and Employment Law, with experience advising employers on a wide range of workplace and HR matters.
- Solid grounding in core Law principles, with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to commercial clients.
- Experience or understanding of complementary practice areas such as Commercial Real Estate and Conveyancing, supporting business services and transactions.
- Awareness of Family Law issues that may intersect with employment and private client matters.
- Qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience in employment law, ideally at senior associate or partner level.
- Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and growing a practice area.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and support junior lawyers and staff, contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills, with strong attention to detail and professional judgment.
