Employment Solicitor (1-4 year PQE)

Nixon McQuade are working with a leading law firm seeking an Employment Lawyer to join its highly regarded employment team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advising employers, senior executives and organisations across a variety of sectors. You will gain exposure to complex employment matters, work directly with clients and play an active role within a collaborative and ambitious team.
Role
- Advising employer clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters
- Providing day to day employment advice on contracts, policies, disciplinaries, grievances, discrimination, flexible working and family leave
- Managing Employment Tribunal litigation, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and equal pay claims
- Advising on High Court matters, including restrictive covenants, team moves, injunctions and confidential information disputes
- Supporting clients with restructures, redundancies, collective consultation and TUPE matters
- Advising on trade union and industrial relations issues
- Supporting M&A, divestments, outsourcing and other transactional matters from an employment perspective
- Advising on atypical working arrangements, employment status and the gig economy
- Advising on senior executive matters, including bonus disputes, breach of contract claims and exits
- Supporting clients with international employment matters and coordinating advice across multiple jurisdictions
- Advising on employee reward, incentives, shares and options
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Taking responsibility for matters and managing work with an appropriate level of autonomy
- Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the development of junior team members

Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor with 1–4 years' PQE in employment law
- Experience working across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Experience acting for employer clients is preferred
- Experience of Employment Tribunal litigation and employment disputes
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
- Commercially aware, proactive and client-focused
- Confident dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable taking responsibility for work and working autonomously
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ambitious, curious and responsive approach
- Experience of, or an interest in, business development and marketing
- Collaborative team player who is keen to support others and develop their own skills
