Employment Solicitor (3-6 PQE)

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

City of London | Hybrid Working

A highly regarded Legal 100 law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor with 3-6 years' PQE to join its successful Employment team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading team advising a diverse client base of businesses, senior executives, entrepreneurs and international organisations. The team is known for its high-quality work across contentious and non-contentious employment matters and works closely with colleagues across Corporate, Real Estate, Immigration and Dispute Resolution departments, providing exposure to a broad range of commercially focused work.

About the role

You will be advising clients on a full range of employment law matters, including:

  • Contracts, policies and procedures
  • Disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Family-friendly rights
  • Redundancy programmes
  • Employment-related data protection matters

Additionally, you will:

  • Manage Employment Tribunal litigation from inception through to conclusion
  • Advise employers and senior executives on complex workplace issues, exits, restrictive covenants, confidentiality matters and workplace investigations
  • Support corporate transactions through employment due diligence, identifying key risk areas, and advising on all aspects of TUPE
  • Handle a varied caseload of both respondent and claimant work, including employment and partnership disputes
  • Support partners with client relationship management, business development initiatives, networking activities and thought leadership projects

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 3-6 years' PQE in Employment law
  • Strong experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Experience advising on TUPE, corporate transactions and employment due diligence, as well experience in advising on grievances, disciplinary processes, performance management and workplace investigations, and ideally a good understanding of employment data protection issues, including Data Subject Access Requests
  • Ability to run a busy caseload of work, while also working alongside the partners and other solicitors in the team
