Role: Employment Solicitor

Location: London

Proper Recruitment are working with a well-established law firm who are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Employment Solicitor (2-6 PQE) to join their growing employment practice. This is a great opportunity to work alongside the firm's partners and an external consultant to help build out the employment team.

The role combines day-to-day employment advisory work with meaningful exposure to corporate transactions, supporting the firm's Corporate and Commercial teams on M&A, share sales, business sales and investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Advising employer clients on day-to-day HR and employment law issues
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, service agreements and consultancy agreements
  • Preparing staff handbooks, policies and procedures
  • Advising on disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance management matters
  • Supporting redundancy and restructuring exercises
  • Advising on settlement agreements and negotiated exits
  • Providing employment law support on M&A, share sales, business sales and investments
  • Undertaking employment due diligence and reporting on transactional risk
  • Advising on TUPE issues arising from business transfers
  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims from inception to conclusion
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and settlement documentation
  • Instructing and liaising with counsel
  • Contributing to business development and client relationship building

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales, 2-6 years PQE (candidates outside this range may be considered)
  • Experience gained within a recognised employment law team
  • Some exposure to corporate support work, M&A, TUPE or employment due diligence essential
  • Some exposure to employment tribunal litigation
  • Strong drafting, analytical and client care skills
  • Commercially aware with a pragmatic approach
  • Proactive, with strong business development acumen (networking and social media experience beneficial)

Salary:

ÂŁ55,000 - ÂŁ70,000 (DoE)
