Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly regarded law firm in London to recruit an Employment Associate (1-4 PQE) to join its growing Employment team. The role offers high-quality work, early responsibility, and genuine opportunities for progression within a supportive team environment.
The Team
The Employment team advises a diverse client base, ranging from SMEs and high-growth businesses through to larger corporate organisations. The practice undertakes a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work and is recognised for providing commercially focused, pragmatic advice.
- Working alongside experienced partners and specialist lawyers, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of matters while benefiting from excellent mentoring and direct client contact.
- Lawyers within the team are actively encouraged to contribute to business development initiatives and build lasting client relationships from an early stage in their careers.

The Role
You will advise predominantly employer clients on a broad range of employment matters, including:
- Employment Tribunal litigation and strategic dispute resolution.
- Disciplinary, grievance, and workplace investigations.
- TUPE advice and employment support on corporate transactions.
- Executive appointments, exits, and settlement agreements.
- Drafting employment contracts, policies, and staff handbooks.
- Restrictive covenants and injunctive relief.
- Managing your own caseload with appropriate partner support.
- Building client relationships and contributing to business development and marketing initiatives.
The firm offers an excellent hybrid working policy, requiring just one designated team day in the office each week and one firm-wide office day each month.

The Ideal Candidate
Applications are welcomed from solicitors with:
- 1-4 years' PQE gained within a recognised employment practice.
- Experience advising employer clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Strong technical ability and excellent drafting skills.
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- An enthusiasm for business development and networking.
- A proactive, collaborative, and personable approach.
