Employment Senior Associate (4+ PQE)
City Of London
Nixon McQuade are working with a highly regarded law firm seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its growing Employment team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer with 4+ years' PQE. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth of the practice, working closely with the partners on a broad range of complex employment disputes and strategic advisory matters.
The role offers a strong emphasis on contentious employment work, including high value Employment Tribunal litigation, senior executive disputes, discrimination and whistleblowing claims, restrictive covenant matters, and workplace investigations. You will also advise clients on a range of non-contentious employment issues, providing commercially focused support to businesses and senior individuals.
The Role
- Manage a varied caseload with a significant focus on contentious employment matters.
- Handle Employment Tribunal claims from inception through to final hearing.
- Advise employers, senior executives, and high-net-worth individuals on complex employment disputes.
- Provide strategic advice on discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, redundancy, TUPE, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Draft and negotiate settlement agreements, employment contracts, policies, and related documentation.
- Build and develop strong client relationships and become a trusted adviser.
- Play an active role in business development and contribute to the growth of the Employment practice.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers within the team.
- Work closely with the partners with a clear route towards future leadership and partnership opportunities.

The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 4+ years' PQE in Employment Law.
- Strong experience handling contentious employment matters and Employment Tribunal litigation.
- Experience advising senior executives and employer clients on complex workplace disputes.
- Excellent drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Demonstrable interest in business development and practice growth.
- Commercially minded, entrepreneurial, and motivated by long-term career progression.
- Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
