Employment Solicitor | Associate / Senior Associate | London

2–7 PQE | Leading Employment Practices | Hybrid Working

Are you an Employment lawyer considering your next move, or simply interested in understanding what opportunities exist across London's leading Employment teams?

Lex Exec is working with several highly regarded law firms, including leading specialist Employment practices and established full-service firms, on opportunities for talented Associates and Senior Associates.

We are particularly interested in speaking with lawyers around 2–7 PQE, including those with strong contentious experience who would like to develop their practice further.

The Opportunities

These are opportunities to join established Employment teams advising sophisticated employers, senior executives and international businesses on complex and often sensitive matters.

Depending on the firm and position, work may include:

  • Complex Employment Tribunal litigation, including discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims
  • Senior executive disputes, exits and negotiated settlements
  • Restrictive covenants, team moves and High Court litigation
  • Strategic employer-side advisory work
  • Workplace investigations and sensitive employee relations matters
  • Restructuring, redundancy and collective consultation
  • Employment aspects of corporate transactions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Some opportunities offer a particularly strong contentious focus, while others provide a broader mix of advisory, litigation and transactional work.

About You

We would welcome conversations with qualified Employment Solicitors who have developed their experience within a recognised Employment practice.

You may be an Associate looking for greater exposure to complex litigation and sophisticated clients, or a Senior Associate seeking increased responsibility, stronger progression prospects and a clearer route towards Legal Director or Partnership.

We are particularly interested in lawyers who can demonstrate:

  • Strong technical Employment law knowledge
  • Experience handling contentious and/or employer advisory matters
  • Sound commercial judgement and confidence dealing directly with clients
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • An interest in developing their practice and progressing their career

It might mean gaining greater ownership of significant matters, working alongside recognised specialists, developing your contentious practice or joining a team where longer-term progression is more achievable.

Because Lex Exec works directly with a number of established Employment teams, we can offer an informed and confidential discussion about the different firms, their practices and where your experience might fit.

You do not need to be actively looking to have that conversation.
