Employment Solicitor

Location: Leeds

Working pattern: Full-time, permanent – part-time applications also considered

Working arrangement: Hybrid

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + annual performance bonus

The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded legal practice is looking to appoint an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its specialist employment team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 4+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience) who is looking for a varied caseload, high-quality work and the opportunity to work closely with a broad range of clients.

Following a comprehensive induction and onboarding programme, you will take responsibility for your own caseload and will be involved in:

  • Advising and representing individual clients, including members of professional and employee organisations
  • Handling a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Advising clients across a variety of sectors, including transport, manufacturing, education, healthcare, public services, sport and the creative industries
  • Working with clients ranging from junior employees through to senior professionals and executives
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships and delivering a high standard of client care
  • Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives, including preparing articles and other professional content
  • Keeping up to date with developments in employment legislation and case law

About You

We are looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload and dealing directly with clients.

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE, or equivalent level of experience
  • Solid experience practising employment law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client-facing abilities and a professional approach
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively and work to deadlines
  • A genuine commitment to delivering excellent client service

Desirable:

  • Experience gained within a well-regarded employment or claimant-focused practice
  • Experience advising members of professional associations, unions or similar organisations
