Employment Lawyer (1–5 PQE)

Belfast | Competitive Salary

A leading National Law Firm is looking to appoint an Employment Lawyer to join its growing Belfast team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to work on a varied caseload of high quality employment matters, advising employers, senior executives, partners and businesses across a range of sectors.

You will have the opportunity to take responsibility for matters from an early stage, work closely with experienced employment lawyers and develop strong relationships with sophisticated clients.

The Role

  • Employment Tribunal claims and other employment related disputes
  • Disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and workplace investigation processes
  • Settlement agreements and executive exits
  • Restrictive covenants and post termination restrictions
  • Employment contracts, policies and general advisory work
  • Partnership and senior employee matters
  • Workplace disputes and contentious employment issues
  • Negotiating settlements and providing commercially focused advice
  • Managing your own caseload while working collaboratively with the wider team
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth of the practice

The Person

  • Experience dealing with contentious employment matters and Tribunal claims
  • A strong academic and professional background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A practical and commercially minded approach to legal advice
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • A collaborative, proactive and ambitious approach
  • Experience advising both employers and senior individuals would be advantageous.
