Opportunity for an Employment Solicitor
An exceptional opportunity for an Employment Solicitor to join an in-house legal team in Leicester on a 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential for a permanent opportunity. You'll advise and represent senior leaders across the UK, handling a predominantly contentious caseload alongside employment and professional discipline work.

You'll join an established six lawyer legal team working collaboratively across a varied and interesting caseload. Description
The In-House Employment Solicitor will be:
- Handling a manageable caseload of employment, professional discipline, and related matters, with around 65% of the work being contentious and litigation focused
- Providing high-quality employment advice and representation to senior leaders, dealing with complex and sensitive employment issues
- Having conduct of employment tribunal and other proceedings, including drafting pleadings, legal documents, preparing cases, and providing representation where appropriate
- Advising on professional discipline matters, regulatory issues, settlement agreements, and employment contracts
- Working closely with the wider six lawyer legal team, member support colleagues, external solicitors, and barristers to deliver an excellent service to members
Profile
The In-House Employment Solicitor should be:
- A solicitor or equivalent with 2+ PQE and strong employment law experience
- Experienced in managing their own employment caseload, ideally with a strong contentious and litigation background
- Confident dealing with employment tribunal matters and complex employment disputes
- Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and clients on sensitive and high-value employment issues
- Ideally experienced in professional discipline, regulatory matters, or representing professionals
- A confident communicator who can build strong relationships and provide clear, practical, and commercially sensible legal advice
- Advocacy experience would be welcomed, although it isn't essential

Job Offer
This is a rare opportunity to move in-house without giving up the interesting and contentious side of employment law.
The role is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, with the potential for a permanent opportunity thereafter. The package includes:
- £57,000 salary
- 9% employer pension contribution
- 33 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home
- Free parking
