Job title: Employment Solicitor (3–5 PQE)

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: Dependent on experience

The Opportunity

A top tier Legal 500 recognised firm is looking to strengthen its already established Employment team with the appointment of an Employment Solicitor at 3–5 years PQE.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to build on their existing experience, work alongside experienced senior fee earners, and develop their career within a supportive and well-established team. The role will involve a combination of contentious and non-contentious employment work, giving you exposure to a diverse range of instructions and the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise.

You will also play an important role in supporting senior fee earners with their caseloads, working alongside experienced members of the team on more complex and interesting matters. There will be the opportunity to develop your own client relationships and caseload over time, while benefiting from the experience and support of the wider team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Advising employers and employees on a broad range of employment matters
  • Handling both contentious and non-contentious employment work
  • Supporting senior fee earners on their existing caseloads
  • Assisting with employment tribunal claims and associated litigation
  • Advising on settlement agreements, contracts, and employment documentation
  • Providing day-to-day employment advice to clients
  • Assisting with more complex and high-value matters
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm
  • Taking increasing responsibility for your own matters and caseload as your experience develops

Candidate Profile

  • 3-5 years PQE
  • Experience dealing with non-contentious and contentious employment matters
  • Strong technical employment law knowledge
  • Commercially aware and able to provide pragmatic, client-focused advice
  • Confident dealing directly with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage their own workload while working effectively as part of a team
  • Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with senior fee earners and colleagues
  • Keen to develop their own caseload and client relationships
  • Looking for a long-term career opportunity rather than simply their next role
