Role Description
The Employment Specialist IPS (Individual Placement and Support) will provide person-centered employment support to individuals seeking meaningful work, focusing on rapid job search and sustained employment outcomes. This full-time, on-site role is based in Leicester and involves working closely with participants to identify strengths, interests, and vocational goals, then matching these to suitable job opportunities. Day-to-day tasks include conducting vocational profiling, preparing CVs and applications, coaching for interviews, and liaising with employers to secure and maintain suitable roles. The Employment Specialist will collaborate with clinical and support teams, maintain accurate records, track progress against agreed outcomes, and deliver practical job retention support. The role also includes promoting the IPS model to employers and partners, contributing to local outreach, and ensuring services are delivered in line with quality and safeguarding standards.

- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to build trust, provide responsive support, and maintain professional relationships with participants, employers, and partners.
- Effective Interviewing and Recruiting skills to assess vocational needs, identify suitable roles, and support participants through the hiring process.
- Experience in Training and coaching to deliver employability workshops, one-to-one guidance, and job retention support tailored to individual needs.
- Knowledge of the IPS model, supported employment, or welfare-to-work services, ideally within health, social care, or related settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while managing a caseload and meeting performance targets.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with proficiency in using digital tools and case management systems.
- Understanding of local labor market trends and employer engagement strategies in Leicester and surrounding areas.
- Relevant qualification or experience in employability, careers guidance, social care, psychology, or a related field.
