About the Company
Citizens Advice Sandwell & Walsall (CASW) is a local charity providing free, confidential and independent advice and support to people across Sandwell and Walsall. We help people understand their rights, resolve problems and make informed decisions across areas such as benefits, debt, housing, employment and consumer issues. As The People’s Champion, our aim is to provide advice and support that empowers our communities to thrive across Sandwell and Walsall. About the Role
This is a fixed-term contract to 31st December 2027, with the potential to become permanent, subject to the availability of ongoing funding and business requirements. As an Employment Support Worker, you’ll work directly with people aged 16–25, providing one-to-one and group support to help them overcome barriers and take positive steps towards their future.
You’ll get to know each person you support, understand their goals and aspirations, and provide tailored support to help them move towards education, training, volunteering or employment. No two days will be the same. You’ll support individuals with areas such as:
Responsibilities
- Building confidence, independence and employability skills
- CV writing, job searching and interview preparation
- Understanding workplace expectations and developing work-ready skills
- Exploring education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities
- Providing financial literacy support, including benefit checks and budgeting
- Connecting individuals with specialist services where additional support is needed
- Providing ongoing support, including longer-term support once someone moves into work
- Building relationships with employers, training providers and partner organisations
- Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate casework records
- Safeguarding those you support and ensuring they receive safe, person-centred support
