We are working exclusively with a fast-growing, progressive national accountancy and advisory firm looking to strengthen its Employment Tax team in Birmingham with the appointment of an experienced Manager or Senior Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Tax specialist who wants more than a purely compliance-led role. You'll join an ambitious team where you'll have genuine ownership of client relationships, lead complex advisory projects and play an active role in the continued growth of the Employment Tax offering.

The firm has developed an excellent reputation for combining strong technical expertise with a modern, commercial and people-focused approach. Growth has created an opportunity for an experienced individual to join at Manager or Senior Manager level, with scope to continue progressing as the team expands.

The Role

Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you'll provide commercially focused advice across a broad spectrum of Employment Tax matters.

  • Leading advisory work across PAYE, NIC, expenses, and benefits
  • Advising clients on employment status and IR35
  • Managing and developing key client relationships, becoming a trusted point of contact
  • Delivering and reviewing complex technical consultancy assignments, reports, calculations, and recommendations
  • Identifying opportunities to generate savings through effective pay and benefits structuring
  • Advising businesses on Employment Tax compliance, governance, and risk
  • Taking ownership of multiple client projects from initial scoping through to delivery
  • Supporting business development, identifying opportunities within existing and prospective clients
  • Mentoring and developing junior members of the team
  • Contributing to the wider strategy and growth of the Tax practice

About You

We are interested in speaking with established Employment Tax professionals from accountancy, professional services, consultancy, or a relevant in-house environment.

Ideally, you will:

  • Be CTA qualified, equivalent, or qualified by experience
  • Have strong Employment Tax / Employer Solutions experience
  • Possess a sound technical understanding of PAYE, NIC, benefits, expenses, and employment status
  • Have experience managing senior client relationships
  • Be comfortable leading complex advisory projects
  • Be able to translate technical tax issues into clear, commercially focused advice
  • Have experience coaching or mentoring more junior colleagues
  • Be commercially minded and interested in contributing to business development
  • Be comfortable managing a varied portfolio and multiple concurrent projects
