Empties Clearance Operative
We are looking for an Empties Clearance Operative to join our fantastic team! Help prepare homes for new residents by delivering safe, efficient clearance of void properties and gardens, making a real difference to our communities.
About Us
Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7,500 properties across West and North Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living.

Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Void Operatives and Inspectors to deliver a high-quality property and garden clearance service, ensuring local environments are kept clean and tidy
- Identify and report housing management concerns to the appropriate team members to support timely action and resolution
- Report any repairs or maintenance issues identified during clearance activities to the Team Leader
- Identify abandoned vehicles and escalate concerns to your line manager where appropriate
- Carry out a range of cleansing duties, including graffiti removal, cleaning and washing out buildings, and the removal of bulky waste items
- Maintain and carry out basic checks on equipment, ensuring it is safe and fit for use

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who has:
- A strong work ethic, with a reliable, proactive, and can-do attitude, demonstrating pride in delivering high-quality work safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and COSHH requirements
- The ability to identify potential hazards, including infectious materials, electrical risks, and the safe handling and disposal of sharp objects
- Experience carrying out cleaning and clearance duties to a high standard
- A full UK driving licence
