Full Job Description: End User Computing Lead

Role: End User Computing Lead

📍 Location: Birmingham

⏰ Full Time - Permanent

🏢 Division: Digital

💼 Salary: Competitive

About Us:

Ardent is the UK’s leading provider of land, consent management, and stakeholder engagement services, supporting major infrastructure and regeneration projects from concept to delivery. We are passionate about delivering life-improving change for communities and future generations.

Role Purpose:

As an End User Computing Lead you will own the end-user device provisioning function from end to end, including procurement support, device build, imaging, configuration, asset registration, and physical deployment for all laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. You will work closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) and 3rd Line Infrastructure Specialist to ensure seamless device management and handover to in-service support. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the standard build, ensuring devices are correctly enrolled in management and security stacks, and handling joiners, movers, and leavers (JML) processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Device Provisioning and Deployment: Build, image, and configure new end-user devices to meet Ardent's standard build requirements. Ensure devices are physically deployed to users, including desk setup and first-login support.
  • Joiners, Movers, and Leavers — Device Element: Prepare and deploy devices for new starters, manage reallocations and site transfers, and handle the secure wiping and re-provisioning or disposal of leavers' devices. Coordinate with HR and MSP for timely provisioning.
  • Handover Point and MSP Coordination: Operate the documented handover point between internal provisioning and MSP in-service support, resolving provisioning defects and escalating in-service faults. Attend MSP service reviews to represent the provisioning function.
  • Hardware Lifecycle and Stock Management: Maintain buffer stock of devices and peripherals, support hardware procurement, and manage warranties and repairs. Run device refresh programs and ensure secure disposal/WEEE-compliant recycling.
  • Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain SOPs for provisioning activities, keeping build documentation and deployment profiles current. Contribute to the shared knowledge base with valuable insights and knowledge articles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
