Endoscope Repair Technician

Kinetic are looking for an experienced Endoscope Repair Technician to join a leading medical organisation at their Northampton site. This is a specialist, hands-on role focused on the repair and refurbishment of flexible Olympus endoscopes. The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience carrying out major repairs, with the ability to repair flexible Olympus scopes from start to finish. This is an excellent, permanent opportunity for an experienced technician to join an established team, work on highly specialised medical equipment and continue developing their technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs and refurbishment of flexible Olympus endoscopes
  • Perform major repairs, taking endoscopes through the complete repair process from assessment through to completion
  • Diagnose faults and identify components requiring repair or replacement
  • Use specialist tools and equipment to complete repairs to a high standard
  • Carry out precision work on small components using tools such as tweezers, pliers and soldering equipment
  • Operate specialist equipment including presses, soldering stations and laser equipment where required
  • Inspect repaired equipment to ensure it meets required quality and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records throughout the repair process
  • Manage and track equipment throughout the repair process
  • Liaise with the stockroom to obtain required replacement parts
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, safe and properly stored
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Prioritise repair work according to urgency and workload
  • Attend training sessions and keep up to date with repair techniques and technologies
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Follow all company Health & Safety, quality and operational procedures

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience repairing flexible Olympus endoscopes is essential
  • Experience carrying out major repairs is essential
  • Ability to diagnose, repair and refurbish flexible endoscopes from start to finish
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work with small, delicate components
  • Experience using precision hand tools, including tweezers and pliers
  • Experience with soldering is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work accurately and patiently on intricate equipment
  • Good computer and record-keeping skills
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, adaptable and willing to undertake ongoing training

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
  • 40 hours per week

  • £33k to £38k per annum, dependant on experience

  • Monday - Friday working hours
  • 40 hours per week
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
  • Ongoing training and development
