Job Description

The post holder will assume responsibility for the day to day delivery of Endoscopes/Cystoscopes/ureteroscopes in a timely fashion to the procedure rooms complying with the current guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Decontamination services are delivered to the required standards as set out in HTM 01-06.
• Handle all Endoscopes/Cystoscopes/Ureteroscopes within the department using aseptic technique.
• Operate automated endoscope washers & dryers, and any other machinery.
• Ensure raw material stock is rotated and that ‘out of date’ stock is not used.
• Assist in periodic stock checks within the directorate.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with departmental procedures and Health & Safety legislation and ensure that any faults or defects are reported immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.
• Keep the work area clean, tidy and free from obstruction.
• Complete all paperwork neatly and legibly.
• Input production data and use the departmental computer systems, including the endoscope tracking system.
• Ensure that all customers are dealt with in a professional and helpful manner.
• Maintain and develop the department’s image and reputation.
• Participate in training, development and appraisal activities.
• Adhere to Quality Management System accredited to BS.EN.ISO 9001:2000.
• Work in accordance with HTM 01-06 guidelines for decontamination of flexible endoscopes.
• Work flexibly in response to changes in and the development of services.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Work at any of the Trust’s or customer’s sites.
• Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade.
