Job Title: Endoscopy Staff Nurse
Contract Type: Permanent and Fixed Term
Fixed Term Contract End Date: June 2027.
Purpose for Fixed Term: Maternity / Shared Parental / adoption Leave Backfill
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Endoscopy as a Staff Nurse. Join our rapidly growing and highly sought-after Endoscopy Unit, where you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive, and specialist environment while developing and advancing your clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
- Assess, monitor, and support patients before, during, and after their procedures.
- Assist the endoscopist and multidisciplinary team during a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance within the unit.
- Participate in teaching, supervision, and supporting the development of colleagues and student.
- Promote a positive patient experience and contribute to the continued development of the Endoscopy Service.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within the endoscopy unit and Recovery service, supporting patients throughout their endoscopy journey, and contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.
The Endoscopy Unit operates 7 days a week, from 8:00am to 8:00pm on weekdays and 8 am to 86 pm on weekends, with an on-call service to support urgent and emergency endoscopy requirements.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC registered)
- Previous endoscopy experience is desirable
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
- Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
- Evidence of on-going personal development
- Able to use initiative
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of recent study
- Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
- Teaching experience
