About the Role
This new role will take our energy advice service to people in rural areas across East Sussex. You will visit communities across East Sussex to provide high-quality energy advice to help residents, including those in fuel poverty to save money and save energy.
Key Details
- Pay scale: £27,000 – £31,000 pro rata depending on experience.
- Hours: 30 hours a week (mainly on weekdays in office hours & an average of 1 weekend day a month, to be agreed with manager).
- Contract: Fixed term contract until 30th September 2028, with a possibility of extension, subject to funding.
- Location: The majority of your time will be spent in outreach locations in rural areas across East Sussex, including Rother, Wealden and near Eastbourne.
- Requirements: You will need to have your own car.
- Training offered: Full induction, City & Guilds energy advisor and retrofit advice training provided.

Responsibilities
- Give energy advice in rural locations across East Sussex.
- Give energy themed talks to local groups.
- Deliver telephone energy advice appointments.
- Carry out home visits to provide energy advice.
- Ensure client records are filled in promptly and are kept up to date.
- Make referrals to other support organisations when additional help is needed.
- Support with data collection and monitoring, as required by funders.
- Adhere to ESC policies which include safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality.
- Attend monthly in-person team meetings in Hastings and work cooperatively with other members of the advice service team.
