Resolution Energy is a specialist energy and sustainability consultancy supporting the property and construction sectors with the transition to net zero. We provide advice on energy performance, building regulations compliance, and low-carbon design for both new and existing buildings. Our clients range from local authorities and housing associations, to architects, landlords and property developers.

Our services include energy modelling, SAP / SBEM calculations, planning energy strategies, overheating assessments and decarbonisation support, ensuring projects meet current and future environmental standards.

The role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced energy consultant to join a team within a growing company. You will be primarily responsible for undertaking SAP / Home Energy Model calculations, and overheating assessments for new build residential developments. You will work with leading local and regional developers, within a consultancy that has strong client relationships.

We are currently a small, collaborative team, with additional support from external specialist consultants on some projects. Working within a small business, you will need to be adaptable, flexible, and comfortable taking initiative across a range of tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertaking SAP / HEM calculations for new build residential projects, from early planning stage through to completion and EPC lodgement
  • Providing face to face advice to clients on Part L and Part O compliance
  • Using Design Builder software to complete dynamic overheating simulations to TM59 in Design Builder
  • Undertaking simplified overheating calculations
  • Part G water efficiency calculations
  • Providing input into Planning strategies and other consultancy reports as required

Key skills/experience

Essential

You must have at least one of the following:

  • Accredited On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) with a minimum of 2 years experience of undertaking assessments on a range of building types
  • Experience in dynamic thermal modelling (ideally DesignBuilder) with a minimum of 2 years experience of undertaking assessments for Part O compliance

In addition you will:

  • Have a good working knowledge of Building Regulations Parts L and O
  • Be comfortable with reviewing drawings and construction specifications and providing advice and guidance to clients
  • Have a detail orientated, methodical, analytical approach and a commitment to complete routine tasks that support high-quality project outcomes
  • Demonstrate excellent numerical skills
  • Display effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to produce reports, presentations, and client-facing materials
  • Have the right to work in the UK

Desirable

Additional accreditations / experience such as Non Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA), PSI value modeller, PHPP, Whole Life Carbon, TM52 etc are desirable but not essential for this role and will only be considered where you hold the essential criteria listed above.

Location

The role is primarily office based in Waterlooville, Hampshire. Hybrid / part time / flexible hours also considered for a suitably experienced applicant.
