Astute’s Power Team Recruitment for Energy Efficiency Sales Engineer

Astute’s Power Team is partnering with an independent, family-owned industrial manufacturing group specializing in low-voltage electrical networks, power performance, and energy management to recruit an Energy Efficiency Sales Engineer for its London Office.

The Energy Efficiency Sales Engineer role comes with a negotiable salary and benefits package that includes medical and car allowance.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Head of Connections Development you will:

  • Develop and deliver energy efficiency solutions for consultants and end-users across the UK and Ireland.
  • Conduct CPD presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, and technical events for consultants and end-users.
  • Deliver technical presentations covering power quality, power and energy monitoring, EED, and energy efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with consultants, end-users, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Review project schematics, specifications, and site requirements to develop appropriate energy efficiency solutions.
  • Prepare and submit tenders for energy efficiency projects based on technical specifications, schematics, and site visits.
  • Manage the company’s integrator programme for energy efficiency systems.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to regional sales engineers on DTC applications and opportunities.
  • Track and develop DTC sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the energy efficiency proposition through market feedback, pricing, customer requirements, and sales presentations.
  • Support the wider sales team with technical documentation, proposals, and customer presentations.

Professional Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification such as HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or business development, ideally within energy efficiency, power systems, or electrical engineering.
  • Strong technical understanding of energy efficiency systems, power quality, energy monitoring, or related electrical technologies.
  • Experience working with consultants, end-users, and technical stakeholders, with the ability to deliver CPD or technical presentations.
  • Commercial understanding with experience of developing tenders, proposals, pricing, and sales opportunities from specification through to completion.
  • Strong ‘soft skills’ including rapport building, communication, relationship management, and negotiation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across London 75% and the UK 25%.
