ENERGY & INFRASTRUCTURE ASSOCIATE / SENIOR ASSOCIATE

London | 2–4 PQE or 6–10 PQE | Permanent
Leading international firms | Irish and Australian applicants welcomed

THE OPPORTUNITY

Diavin International Recruitment is working with two leading international law firms seeking energy and infrastructure lawyers to join their highly regarded London practices. These represent standout opportunities for lawyers who want to develop a genuinely broad transactional practice across energy M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and project development, rather than becoming confined to a single product area. The successful candidates will advise across the full lifecycle of major energy and infrastructure investments—from the acquisition of businesses and assets through to joint venture structuring, development, financing and operation.

THE PRACTICES

The teams advise leading energy companies, infrastructure investors, private equity and infrastructure funds, sponsors, developers and financial institutions on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, including:

  • Acquisitions and disposals of energy and infrastructure businesses and assets
  • Joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and strategic investments
  • Project development and complex commercial arrangements
  • Structured transactions and equity financings
  • The development, acquisition, financing and operation of major projects

The work spans both established and rapidly evolving markets, including:

  • Renewables and the energy transition
  • Conventional power
  • Oil and gas, LNG and midstream infrastructure
  • Mining, metals and critical minerals
  • Digital and other critical infrastructure

The practices combine deep sector expertise with broad corporate and projects capability, allowing lawyers to understand both the commercial investment and underlying development of an asset.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidates are not expected to have experience across every sector or workstream listed above. Lawyers whose current practices are weighted towards either corporate transactions or project development are encouraged to apply, provided they have a strong foundation in energy or infrastructure work and an interest in broadening their capability. Oil and gas, LNG or wider conventional energy experience would be particularly valuable at the senior level.

INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES

Candidates do not need to be currently based in the UK. Applications are expressly welcomed from Irish and Australian-qualified lawyers considering a move to London, particularly those with experience at leading firms and exposure to sophisticated energy, infrastructure or major-project transactions.

WHAT THE FIRMS OFFER

  • A genuinely broad energy and infrastructure practice
  • Exposure to M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and project development
  • High-value domestic and cross-border transactions
  • Direct contact with leading partners and major international clients
  • Meaningful responsibility and ownership of substantive workstreams
  • Work across both established energy markets and the global energy transition
  • The opportunity to join collaborative and growing international practices
  • Strong long-term development and progression prospects
