About this opportunity
The Capital Programme team is responsible for the delivery of the Council’s capital programme and supports the delivery of significant elements of the Council Plan. The team delivers capital investment on behalf of a broad range of internal and external customers through a diverse range of projects and programmes including differing asset types and significant variations in scale. This is a key post within the Capital Programme Team.
The successful candidate will audit buildings and energy use and lead projects to reduce energy consumption and operational costs and in addition seek to increase energy generation and income across the corporate estate. The role will support delivery of the councils Carbon Management Strategy.

Who we are looking for…
This role will require the candidate to have an advanced knowledge of energy systems, carbon reporting, monitoring and targeting software and a good understanding of how a commercial estate can reduce energy use and increase energy generation.
Candidates could come from a variety of backgrounds but should be forward thinking and able to build relationships quickly to influence change. Candidates who can evidence where they have helped deliver or are delivering projects resulting in energy reduction or generation would be well suited to the role, however candidates working in roles with transferable skills are welcome to apply.
