Energy Manager - Operations & Insights | London

Susiti is recruiting an Energy Operations & Insight Manager on behalf of a major London-based higher education institution, to lead the optimisation of energy assets and building management systems across a large, multi-site estate.

This role sits within the Energy Transition function working towards a 2040 net zero carbon target, and it's a genuinely data-driven role, not just an operational one. You'll be the person turning raw energy data into the insight that actually shapes investment and procurement decisions.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and optimisation of energy assets driving continuous improvement through monitoring, targeting, and system optimisation.
  • You'll manage local control and BMS strategy to proactively manage demand, build out an energy management plan and analytics plan for the estate, and oversee third-party analytics partners and contracts.
  • On the insight side, you'll analyse estate-wide energy data to spot reduction opportunities, flag performance exceptions, and manage drifts, then translate that into clear, prioritised investment recommendations.
  • You'll provide measurement and verification support for energy and carbon projects, produce volume forecasts and emissions data for statutory reporting, and work with a third party to build and own dashboards turning operational data into actionable insights.
  • You'll also be the go-to subject matter expert for energy operations and analytics, advising staff and academic teams on good energy practice, working closely with critical infrastructure, net zero and energy efficiency teams, and representing the organisation in sector forums.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
