In this high-profile role, you’ll be the Council’s lead expert on energy provision and management shaping strategies, driving innovation, and delivering major programmes that make a real difference. From managing multi-million-pound utilities contracts to spearheading energy projects, EV infrastructure and leading invest to save initiatives, you’ll be at the forefront of change.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide strategic leadership, ensuring services are delivered proactively and collaboratively on behalf of the Council and partner organisations, including Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.
  • Oversee the delivery of the team’s strategic work programme, creating a high-performing environment that supports innovation, partnership working and the achievement of programme objectives.
  • Monitor, review and develop strategies and associated action plans, ensuring they remain effective, relevant and aligned with the Council’s priorities.
  • Track progress against delivery targets and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Play a leading role in the development of West Northamptonshire’s electric vehicle infrastructure.
  • Establish and manage a dedicated EV Infrastructure team, shaping and delivering the Council’s EV charging strategy, securing external grant funding, and overseeing the procurement and management of EV charging operators.
