East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's Energy Projects team as a Community Liaison Officer.

Your role

You will act as East Suffolk Council’s primary community-facing contact for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), building and maintaining positive relationships between the Council, local communities and project stakeholders.

The role will provide a visible and trusted presence within affected communities, ensuring residents, businesses, community organisations, and town and parish councils have clear opportunities to access information, raise concerns, and engage with discussions on project impacts and opportunities. The postholder will proactively develop and deliver community engagement activities, briefings, workshops and stakeholder events to engage with residents and impacted communities.

A key responsibility will be the coordination and management of Sizewell C-related enquiries, concerns and complaints. Working with Council services and external partners, the postholder will ensure issues are investigated, monitored and responded to effectively, maintaining oversight of actions and outcomes while supporting timely issue resolution.

What you will need

Experience of working in community engagement, customer services, stakeholder management, complaints handling or a similar role. You will have experience of dealing with sensitive and complex or contentious issues within the community and be able to manage difficult conversations diplomatically.

You will be educated to A Level standard or have an equivalent relevant qualification or experience. Strong organisation and prioritisation skills along with attention to detail is also essential as you will be maintaining records, managing casework and coordinating multiple enquiries.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
