The UK’s energy transition is creating some of the most important infrastructure challenges of the next decade. Wind, solar, energy from waste and wider decarbonisation programmes all require clear thinking, strong delivery confidence and the ability to bring technical, commercial and programme expertise together around complex client needs.

Ridge is growing its Infrastructure business and is looking for a senior leader to help develop our presence across the renewable energy sector. This is a Partner-level opportunity for someone with strong client relationships, sector credibility and the ability to grow meaningful work across major energy clients, capital programmes and multi-disciplinary services.

This is a leadership role with real scope. The opportunity exists because Ridge sees significant potential to support clients who are planning, delivering and improving renewable energy and decarbonisation infrastructure. You will have the ability to shape the direction of this offer, build client relationships, develop opportunities and work with colleagues across the business to create joined-up solutions for clients facing complex investment and delivery decisions.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to build something with long-term value: a stronger national renewable energy offer within a growing Infrastructure team, supported by the wider capability of one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancies.

The Role

As a senior leader within our Infrastructure business, you will work closely with the UK Head of Infrastructure and colleagues across Ridge to grow our work in the renewable energy sector.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You Will Bring

  • Strong experience in business development across the renewable energy or wider energy infrastructure sector.
  • Sector exposure across one or more of wind, solar, energy from waste, decarbonisation programmes or related energy transition work.
  • Established relationships with energy clients, asset owners, operators, public bodies, developers, investors or major programme stakeholders.

  • Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how consultancy services grow sustainably.
