We now have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Specialist - Net Zero Strategy a forward-thinking professional who is passionate about sustainability and motivated by the challenge of helping the NHS transition to a low-carbon future.
About the Role
As an Energy Specialist - Net Zero Strategy, you will play a vital role in shaping NHSPS’s decarbonisation journey. You’ll lead the development and delivery of our decarbonisation survey programme, ensuring that every assessment is robust, accurate and aligned with our long-term sustainability commitments. You’ll work closely with the Decarbonisation Specialists to manage their survey delivery, review their technical outputs and translate findings into clear, actionable proposals. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll help build multi-year programmes of energy and carbon-reduction projects that support our net zero ambitions. This is a unique opportunity to influence environmental performance at scale and contribute to the long-term resilience of the NHS estate.
Who You Are
You’re a technically strong sustainability or energy professional with a deep understanding of decarbonisation, energy performance and carbon-reduction strategies. You’re confident analysing complex technical information, turning insights into practical recommendations and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. You bring strong organisational skills, a solutions-focused mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement across a diverse national estate.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
