Location: Home-based with travel
Salary: up to £47,000 DOE

Are you an experienced BESS Electrical Engineer looking for your next move?

Belectric UK is seeking a BESS Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the design and engineering of international energy storage projects, from sales phase through to construction and commissioning.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • General electrical design engineering activities for the DC and AC installation of energy storage projects.
  • Produce layouts, SLD preparation, wiring schematics, cable sizing calculations, earthing layouts, protection scheme development, cable containment solutions, etc.
  • Ensure engineering designs are completed to planned timescales.
  • Reading design specifications and technical drawings to inform design.
  • Evaluating technical specifications in the tender documentation packages and reviewing risks and implications of the requirements.
  • Negotiating with BESS OEMs on technical specifications and supply agreements.
  • Providing engineering and technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving project challenges.
  • Manage relationships and work with Technical Advisor on development sites but also ad hoc requirements.
  • Support of sales and procurement with technical descriptions and datasheet validation, generation of Bill of Quantities.
  • Support of the construction department in the implementation, in the project realization phase.
  • Close exchange with colleagues in layout design, purchasing, project development, project management, and the subsidiaries.
  • Preparation of as-built calculations and drawings package.
  • Technical documentation after completion of a project.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience within energy storage either in EPC, consultancy, DNO, ICP, renewable energy developer, or alternatively another engineering environment.
  • Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
  • Knowledge and understanding of international and UK electrical standards.
  • Good knowledge of electrical design software (eplan or similar).
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with the interactions between developer, EPC, and TA in utility-scale PV project development.
