Enforcement Officer - Compliance

Are you experienced in enforcement, compliance or legal casework and looking for an opportunity to make a real difference? We're looking for an Enforcement Officer - Compliance to provide a proactive enforcement service in the South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath, Somerset and surrounding area, working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure our compliance obligations are met and our customers remain safe.

This is a varied role where you'll manage complex no access cases, work with external agencies and support legal proceedings where required. You'll play a key role in helping us maintain compliance standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve no access cases, working collaboratively with colleagues and customers to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to support compliance and enforcement activities.
  • Prepare legal documentation and represent the organisation in court proceedings when required.
  • Deliver enforcement actions including possession proceedings, injunctions and other legal remedies.
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on case management and enforcement best practice.
  • Resolve complaints and challenging situations professionally, ensuring a positive customer experience.

This is a full time role working 37 hours per week.

Field based working approach meaning your work is carried out across a dedicated patch with a mix of hybrid working available when needed to work from an office or home. The team is based in our Exeter office however you are able to work from any of the offices LiveWest provide.

  • Experience within social housing, compliance, enforcement or a legal-related profession.
  • Experience managing complex enforcement cases and achieving performance targets.
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and social housing good practice.
  • Experience dealing with breaches of tenancy, no access cases or similar enforcement matters.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to manage challenging situations professionally.
  • Experience representing, advocating or presenting cases in a legal or formal setting.

Essential Qualifications

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable Skills, Experience, Knowledge And Qualifications

  • CIH, HNC in Housing or a related qualification.
  • Experience of obtaining injunctions, possession orders or other enforcement remedies.
  • Knowledge of legal casework management and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience improving customer satisfaction and service performance.
  • Understanding of value for money principles and service improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working with external agencies and partner organisations.

Please note, we are unable to provide CoS for this role; therefore, applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of this role without requiring a CoS.
